Principal's Lunch with Sec Parents - 27 April

RPA successfully organised the third Principal's Lunch on 25 April 2009. This being the first lunch invitation for Secondary 1 parents, 24 parents responded. However, owing to limited places, only 17 were invited while the rest will be invited to attend the next lunch in July.

Generally, the Secondary 1 parents shared three common concerns with Principal Mrs Lim Lai Cheng :

(1) The long hours spent in school - Secondary 1 students were home very late; with some parents putting it as “selling their lives” to RI. Mrs. Lim assured the parents that she would return their children as "accomplished RI Men", which reassured the parents.

(2) Selection of Core CCA - Mrs. Lim explained the process of CCA selection. She assured the parents that should they find their son’s CCAs unsuitable, they could always discuss the issue with the school.

(3) Difference between the RP and IB Program - Mrs. Lim listed out the advantages of the Raffles Program over the IB Program which cleared the parents' doubts.

Parents expressed their heartfelt thanks to RPA and Mrs Lim for this informative session of interaction with the school. They rated this program an average 4.77 out of a possible 5, that is 95.5%! Some parents also expressed their interest to join future RPA functions.
